Race For Life

Women from all walks of life could be seen. Old and young, big and small, everyone gave it their best. some out to prove something to themselves, some out to just take part. some have trained relentlessly, other haven't trained at all. All of them with the one same goal. Tatton Park was the location, 10K was the distance. 1,800 women ascended to take it to one of the worst diseases out there. Race for Life, as I'm sure you are all aware, is a women only run, jog or walk around a course, to raise money for cancer research.

Sunday 1st September 2013.

And they're off!

some of those setting the pace early on.

It's not really a spectator sport, and with the leading ladies not returning for 45 minutes, there wasn't a lot to do. Luckily there was a lot of dogs present. so they could have a play.

My lady returning

Starting together, finishing together.

Some of the dogs even took part.

And good sportsmanship saw those who finished before others, helping them over the finishing line

It was cold and there wasn't a great deal to do. But what those ladies did was worth everything. All the effort training, all the effort to raise the sponsorship, because what they have done is worth more than they could ever know.

One day we will beat cancer, and these are the people who made it happen!

On a more personal note, I'm so proud of my Girlfriend for taking part, and raising over £200. congratulations on beating your PB :)
