I love Light Photography. I decided to make myself some new tools. Then play time :) Nothing majorly exciting, or new. but here are the results anyway.

Tandle Hills

Situated in Royton, the hills are consist of a combination of open grasslands and Beech woodlands. The trees were originally planted to stop radicals using the area to practice marching in the aftermath of the Peterloo Massacre. The land was privatised before being give to the public in the early stages of the last century.

enough of the history lesson, lets see some pictures!

Believe it or not, this was actually the first time that I have been to this park. For years I have heard people tell tales of the fun to be had on a sledge, or the wonders of dog walking here. Obviously, I wanted to experience it for myself... however, there was no snow. No sledging today!

on a separate note. Whilst here, we was followed by a young pup with no owner. Naturally we were concerned. Thankfully, we were able to reunite pup with owner. No greater feeling!

Autumnal Walk in the Park

Just a quick one for today. After a long morning of sorting the garden out before its too late, we decided that Freddy deserved a little trip to the park. After all, he did a grand job of barking at the lawnmower, and scaring away those nosy magpies. I doubt you will be able to, but can you name the park?

If you did guess, then no doubt you want to know if you are correct?

Werneth Park.

So there you go. Autumn is well and truly here!

Weatherfield's Finest

For a little birthday present, I decided to take my beloved on a trip to one of Manchester most famous streets. Coronation street of course. As the show has moved from its old home to a new luxury home within the state of the art Media City at Salford Keys, the old set has been opened as a tour for a limited time only.

I'm sure even if you have never seen the show, much like myself, you will still recognise some of the locations. Most notable, The Rovers Returns.

Autumn is in the air

Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year. The temperature is slowly dropping, the days are getting shorter and the colours are truly amazing! Today I went on a little walk. No doggie today (as I had to visit the shops first) so it was just me and my camera. You may recall my Autumnal post last year. I Love Autumn. But you haven't come here to listen to me talk... (or read what I type) You came here for the photos. Because let's be honest, you are a smart person. Photo blog = Photos. Go You!

I hope that you like them, and I hope you have a favourite.

Failsworth Carnival with Lisa's Zumba

Once Again I find myself in a situation where I am surrounded by dancing girls. That is every mans dream right? I was one of the lucky few people to play witness to Lisa's Zumba at the Failworth Carnival this weekend.

Some of you may remember me doing this post last summer, and needless to say, thanks to the hundreds of Zumbarettes, it has been one of my most viewed posts. This year, I was invited back to photograph the girls whilst they do their thing. As always, I will try to let the pictures do the talking.

Day 1, back on the float, travelling through the heart of the town. With spectators on almost every doorstep, you have to admire the bravery of these girls. On a normal class, they would be in a dark hall with the only lights on the 3 ring leaders. Not today however

The second day the Zumbarettes were limited to a field and a stage! but that didn't stop them doing what they do best

Last year, you may recall that this rowdy bunch of ladies, with their enthralling energy, took home the top prize from carnival. This year was no different!

What looked to be uniformed madness, is actually the opposite. Dance routines that are easy enough to follow along to, and even easier to pick up. Some of the spectators even found themselves dancing along.

although, not everyone was as impressed... though it may have just been a long day...

So what are you waiting for? Head over to Facebook and Lisa's website to find the info. Classes are £4, but your first one is free!
